Navruzov: Chechens were not forced out of Pugachov
Natives of Chechnya were not forcibly evicted from the city of Pugachov, Arbi Navruzov, the chairman of the Saratov regional public organization "Vainakh", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The administration of Pugachov has confirmed the departure a number of natives from Northern Caucasus; however, the exact number of them is unknown. The members of the Diaspora refused to provide the appropriate data.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 6 a 20-year-old soldier Ruslan Marzhanov was killed in Pugachov. A 16-year-old native of Chechnya is suspected of the murder; he is in custody. After the murder, spontaneous protests burst out in the city demanding to deport natives of Chechnya. On July 10, Mikhail Babich, the presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District, said that the Chechen Diaspora took out a part of their youth away from Pugachov.
The administration of Pugachov has confirmed the departure of a number of natives from Northern Caucasus, but the exact number of them is unknown.
On July 11, Pugachov residents complained about the work of the authorities to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). Its employees received 15 residents of the city, who reported about poor actions "of local authorities, court marshals, as well as the incompleteness of the investigation into the criminal cases run by interior bodies," the website of the ICRF reports.
We can add here that on July 10, after the spontaneous protests demanding the deportation of Chechens, the head of the police Igor Lopatkin was dismissed.
