In Chechnya, court marshal Aindy Bulatov convicted for abuse of power dies in road accident
The court marshal Aindy Bulatov, who was found on June 25 guilty of abuse of power by the court, has perished today in a motor crash on the Federal Highway "Kavkaz", said Vakha Chagaev, a senior on duty traffic policeman of the GIBDD (Road Traffic Inspectorate) of Chechnya.
"As a result of head-on collision that occurred today at the 738th km of the Federal Highway "Kavkaz" the court marshal Aindy Bulatov died. The other participant in the collision, an FSB officer, was wounded," Chagaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
On June 25, the Urus-Martan City Court found Aindy Bulatov guilty of abuse of power during arresting the property of the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) "Goskhoz Gorets", which had arrears of salary payment. He was punished by a fine of 40,000 roubles and prohibition to act as a court marshal for two years. Bulatov pled not guilty; and his defence appealed against the verdict to the Supreme Court of Chechnya.
Andrei Markashev, the advocate of the deceased person, believes that the guilty verdict could have indirectly provoked the incident, since it had a profound impact on Bulatov's emotional status. He said that he would try to prove the innocence of his client.
