Trial of administration head of Tsentralny District of Sochi to continue on July 16
In Sochi, at the trial of Sergey Pavlenko, the head of administration of the Tsentralny District of Sochi, the witnesses of the prosecution have been questioned. The hearing with participation of new witnesses will continue on July 16.
Let us remind you that the criminal case against Sergey Pavlenko was opened on August 22, 2012, under Part 1, Article 285 (abuse of power) and Part 2, Article 292 (forgery) of the Russian Criminal Code. According to investigators, while working as the head of overhaul Sergey Pavlenko signed documents containing false information on the amount of work performed in repairing of apartment buildings.
At the trial, the prosecutor Svetlana Lebedeva stated that according to the investigation the sum of inflicted damage amounted to more than 13 million roubles. The city administration is the suffered party; it was represented at the trial by Dmitry Kirin, an employee of the Legal Department.
"The administration does not recognize itself as the suffered party and does not believe that it had suffered any material loss," Dmitry Kirin confirmed the administration's position, voiced by him at the session on July 9, to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent; however, he did not justify the position.
Let us remind you that on September 5, 2012, the Court of the Tsentralny District of Sochi dismissed the motion of an investigator of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), who asked to temporarily suspend Sergey Pavlenko from his post of the head of the administration of the Tsentralny District of Sochi.
