NAC: Umar Musaev, who surrendered in Makhachkala, was a militant
Umar Musaev, who has surrendered today to law enforcement bodies in Makhachkala, a year ago became an IAF member – first of the "Makhachkala", and then of the "Derbent" militant grouping, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that last night in the village of Alburikent in Makhachkala, during a counterterrorist operation, power agents blocked a house in Bibliotechnaya Street with six persons inside, including three children. The blocked persons surrendered after power agents met the condition put forward by them: Umar Musaev would come out with a child first.
The NAC asserts that Musaev was directly involved in numerous attacks on law enforcers, explosions and extortions.
A source from the NAC told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that after surrender Musaev made confessions; in particular, he that he had personally participated in preparation of the explosion of the Djemikent militia post and Tabasaran ROVD (District Interior Division) of Dagestan.
So far, it is unknown where the detainee is kept and whether his relatives have hired an advocate.
The women, who were found in the blocked house, were taken to the Sovietsky ROVD, Zarema Abakarova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
