In Baku, three activists of youth organizations detained
On July 14, inBaku, three activists of youth organizations were detained. Their detentions are connected with anti-government leaflets, distributed in public places. This was stated by one of the detainees.
Ulvi Gasanli, the leader of the civil movement "Free Youth", and an activist of the civil movement "Nida" (Shout), were detained at the exit of the metro station "Nizami", next to the police department at the Baku Metro was located.
Kenan Gasymly, a board member of the civil movement "Nida", and Medjid Mardjanly, an activist of the movement "Free Youth", were also invited to the police department.
After a while, Emil Bagirov, one of the detainees, was released. The other three detainees were taken away from the police department at the Baku Metro to some unknown destination. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Samir Kazymly, the coordinator of the Alliance for Defence of Political Freedoms.
Earlier, in Azerbaijan, activists of the movements "Nida" and "Free Youth" were subjected to detentions and arrests. The organization "Amnesty International" recognized the arrested activists as "prisoners of conscience".
