Dagestani court rules to arrest Umar Musaev
The court has ruled to arrest Umar Musaev, arrested on July 13 on suspicion of involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs), for two months.
According to Selim Magomedov, Musaev's advocate and a member of the Bar "Kavkaz", the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala has upheld the demand of investigators to put the suspect in custody. A month ago, Umar Musaev was wounded, the lawyer said.
"Today, I saw my client for the first time after he surrendered to the police. My conversation with him was short; Umar did not complain about any illegal methods applied to him. Also, it became known that he wouldn't be kept at the IVS (temporary detention facility) of Makhachkala, but convoyed to IK-2 of the settlement of Shamkhal, where he would take his necessary surgery," Selim Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Umar Musaev is suspected of committing a series of crimes, said a source from the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF. "Despite the fact that he had not long been in the ranks of IAFs, he is suspected of several crimes, including terrorism," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
