In June 2013, 82 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
At least 82 persons suffered in the course of the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in June 2013; of them 39 persons were killed and 43 more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.
Dagestan, where 43 persons suffered, of them 26 were killed and 17 more were wounded, became the leader in the number of victims to the conflict in June. As a result of attacks, special operations and bombings seven law enforcers were killed and nine wounded. During armed clashes and special operations, 11 suspected members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were killed and two others were wounded. Besides, eight civilians fell victim to the conflict in June and six more were wounded.
Chechnya, where 17 law enforcers suffered, of them 2 persons were killed and 15 more wounded, occupies the second place on the number of victims in June.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, 13 persons fell victim to the conflict, including nine lost and four wounded persons.
In Ingushetia, in June, six law enforcers suffered, who were wounded in the explosion of explosive devices and armed clashes with suspected members of IAFs.
In the Stavropol Territory, three persons fell victim to the armed conflict in June, of them two were killed, including a policeman and a person suspected of attack on law enforcers, and one law enforcer was wounded.
In North Ossetia and Karachay-Cherkessia, in June, no one suffered from the armed conflict.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May, at least 147 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, of them 45 persons were killed and 102 more were wounded.
The above statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with absolute precision. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the statements of law enforcement bodies.
