About 100 persons gathered in Rostov-on-Don to support Alexei Navalny
On July 18, in Rostov-on-Don, in Lenin Square, people gathered spontaneously in support of Alexei Navalny, Russian opposition figure and blogger. Participants of the gathering state that the action, the details of which were spread in social networks, was attended by about 100 persons. The police say that the gathering was held calm and without detentions.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Valentina Tolmachova, one of the participants of the gathering in Rostov-on-Don, that the action was very spontaneous.
"Several hours earlier, the social networks posted the announcement of the invitation to the gathering. People organized in just a couple of hours. When I drove up to Lenin Square, there were just a lot of policemen and no participants of the gathering there. As I crossed the road, about 15 persons were already walking next to me. People approached the place very quickly," Valentina Tolmachova said.
According to her story, the gathering was attended by a lot of people completely unknown to her, and, basically, they were young people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that actions in support of Alexei Navalny were held on July 18 in many cities of Russia, including Sochi, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Pyatigorsk and Stavropol.
