In Volgograd, participants of hearing on embankment reconstruction claim it was falsified
NGO activists have claimed a falsification that took place at Volgograd public hearing on the project of embankment reconstruction; they now intend to cancel its results in court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 11 Volgograd held a public hearing on the planning project of the territory of the city embankment. 430 people present approved the project, while 50 others voted against it.
On July 12, a blogger Alexei Ulyanov filed an application to the prosecutor's office of the Volgograd Region asking to conduct a thorough review of the violations admitted at the public hearing. Ulyanov reported about violation of the terms of publication and conditions of informing the public, and about the way the minutes were drawn up.
His application also claims that no free access was ensured for all the people willing to take part to the hall of the former cinema "Rodina", which "technically could not accommodate the number of people, which was announced by the chairman."
"People cast more than one ballot, which can be clearly seen in the video; there were also people holding bundles of ballots and who had no attitude to the organizers of the event," Alexei Ulyanov wrote in his application.
A deputy's request to the prosecutor's office was also lodged by Nikolai Parshin, the first secretary of the Volgograd Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
The prosecutor's office should answer Messrs Parshin's and Ulyanov's applications within a month, that is, before August 12.
