Off-the-schedule check of political parties is on in South Ossetia

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of South Ossetia has announced an unscheduled inspection of political associations concerning the membership of militaries in political parties. The procedure began on July 8 and will be over on July 31.

Let us note here that the Law of South Ossetia "On Status of Servicemen" prohibits militaries from engaging in political activities.

"The intra-departmental audit of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of South Ossetia has found that more than 200 soldiers were on party lists, while 60% of them do not even suspect that their names had been put there," Galina Guchmazova, an employee of the MoD, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The check was caused by soldiers' applications received by the MoJ, who complained that their names had been put on the above lists without their knowledge, said Arina Kokoeva, a chief specialist of the division of state registration of the MoJ.
