Power agents detain 500 believers in two mosques near Moscow
Over 500 Muslims of the religious communities of the towns of Yakhroma and Domodedovo were detained by law enforcers. Most of them returned home on the same day, believers report.
On July 19, buses drove up to the mosque in Yakhroma; traffic policemen blocked the roads and cordoned off the area; and mobile telephony was suppressed in the mosque and adjacent area, a believer and a native of Ingushetia named Daud told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"After the prayer, we were all brought out, without explaining anything, loaded into buses and taken to the Dmitrov police department," said Daud.
According to his story, the believers were asked to write explanations; and all of them were fingerprinted.
The believers of the Muslim community of Domodedovo were also arrested on July 19. "At the police station, they were all fingerprinted and photographed; their documents were checked and explanations taken. All were released sooner or later," Anvar-khazrat Yuneev, the imam of the mosque, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
