Armenian movie "If Only Everyone" wins the main prize of the 15th Shukshin Film Festival
In the Altai Territory, the main prize of the 15th Shukshin Film Festival, held on July 18-21, was awarded to two films – the Armenian movie "If Only Everyone" by Natalya Belyauskene and "The Daughter" by Alexander Kasatkin and Natalya Nazarova.
The plot of the movie "If Only Everyone" is based on a fictional event of life after the Karabakh conflict.
In the film, a girl Sasha comes from Russia to Armenia, hoping to find the grave of her father – a Russian, who 20 years ago fought and perished in Karabakh for the homeland of his wife, an Armenian, who had been killed during the events in Sumgait.
Sasha is helped by Gurgen, her father's former commander. The search brings them to the border separating the warring parties. Realizing that the grave of Sasha's father is on the other side of the border, in the territory controlled by Azerbaijani troops, the heroes decide to cross it. On the opposite side they stumble upon an Azerbaijani, who hears that the Armenians are looking for a burial, puts down his arms and lets them go. Finding the grave of the deceased Sasha's father, the group returns to the Armenian side, where they find the grave and give honour to the son of the Azerbaijani they had met.
In Armenia, the premiere of the film "If Only Everyone" took place in January 2012. The authors would like to screen it in Azerbaijan as well.
