Sochi: FSB agents and prosecutors inspect reception room of network "Migration and Law"
As reported by Semyon Simonov, the head of the network "Migration and Law", on July 23 the reception room of the network was inspected by employees of the city prosecutor's office, tax inspectorate and the Federal Security Bureau (FSB).
The reception room of the network "Migration and Law" was opened in Sochi on July 25, 2012, as one of the programmes of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", engaged in providing consultations and legal assistance to migrant workers.
According to Simonov, the inspection lasted for one and a half hours.
He associates the inspection with the active work of the network in defending the rights of the migrant workers employed at constructing Olympic facilities.
In the event that the inspection had been caused by violations of migrants' rights, it is a good sign, says Svetlana Gannushkina, the head of the human rights committee "Civic Assistance".
"If prosecutors are really interested in the working content of our office, then I'm happy. I hope that we'll cooperate," Gannushkina told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot".
