Volgograd holds rally demanding govt's resignation

A rally under the slogan: "Decent life to war children!" organized by the Stalingrad Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) was held in Volgograd on July 27. Its participants demanded resignation of the Russian government and the local Governor Sergey Bozhenov, and formation of the regional government with participation of the opposition.

The rally was held in Lenin Square and gathered, according to organizers, about 300 people representing different political forces and public associations, Andrei Shevchenko, the secretary of the regional committee of the CPRF, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

People held posters: "Don't let to steal our victory!" and "Seizure of power is prosecuted!" A group of young people wearing T-shirts reading "Stop waiting! It's high time to change the power!" was also present.

People came to the rally because "the Russian government demonstrates to the whole world its unwillingness and inability to work", Andrei Shevchenko is sure.

"All their tireless activities aim at increasing the tax burden on Russian workers and precocious cooking bills that allow plundering with impunity the remains of state property," he said. "Today, the country is sliding back to the criminal 1990s. The difference is that in those days they were stealing in millions, now – in billions."
