In Baku, earlier detained Yalchin Gakhramanoglu, representative of NCDF, released without charge
In the evening of July 29, in Baku, Yalchin Gakhramanoglu, the leader of the representative office of the oppositional National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, who was detained a day earlier at the Baku airport, was released. He was not charged of any crime, and officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) do not comment on the detention. Yalchin Gakhramanoglu himself treats his detention as an attempt of political pressure against him.
Let us remind you that in the evening of July 28, Yalchin Gakhramanoglu arrived from Kiev with members of his family. According to the story of his cousin Sabir Binnetli, initially, they were detained by border guards on the pretext of "problems" in their documents, and then they handed them over to the police.
At the Chief Department for Combating Organized Crime (known as GUBOP) of the MIA, Yalchin Gakhramanoglu was questioned about the purpose of his visit to Azerbaijan and his relation to political events. This was reported by advocate Mansum Bairamov. However, according to the advocate's report, "no specific claims were filed."
According the story of Yalchin Gakhramanoglu, on July 29, starting from the morning, his relatives noticed suspicious people around his house in Baku. The Yalchin Gakhramanoglu's relatives do not rule out that they could put the house under surveillance.
Let us remind you that on June 9, a group of Azerbaijanis, living in Kiev, held a meeting, on which they decided to establish a representative office of the NCDF in Ukraine. Yalchin Gakhramanoglu was elected the leader of the representative office.
