During operational and preventive actions to decriminalize the Moscow marketplace in Yasenevo District, 30 natives of Northern Caucasus were detained. This was reported by representative of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) for the capital of the Russian Federation.
In Moscow, the actions to decriminalize markets are carried out after the conflict on the "Matveevsky" Marketplace that occurred on July 27. According to the investigators' information, policemen tried to detain Magomed Magomedov, a native of Dagestan, suspected of raping a schoolgirl. During his detention, his relatives Magomed and Khalimat Rasulov attacked a policeman and inflicted a serious injury to him. This was stated by the law enforcement bodies.
Today, from the territory of three trade outlets located in the Western District of Moscow, 470 persons were brought to the police stations and fingerprinted. Protocols on administrative violations were drawn up against some of them. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the representative of the GUVD for Moscow.
After the conflict on the "Matveevsky" Marketplace, the authorities should prevent pogroms in the markets in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. This was stated by lawyer Valentina Chupik, the manager of migration programmes of the international non-commercial organization "TONG JAHONI". She has noted that during the operations, policemen unlawfully use of force.
Meanwhile, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation expressed concern that the preventive actions carried out by the police may exacerbate interethnic relations.
