Russian SC completes judicial investigation into case on riots in Sagra
Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation has completed the investigation into the case on riots in the village of Sagra, during which a native of Azerbaijan was killed. During the court session, all motions filed by participants of the trial were dismissed with motivation that the court of first instance had examined in details all the necessary materials.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on July 31, the SC began to consider the appeals against the verdict in the case on riots in the village of Sagra of the Sverdlovsk Region. In its appeals, the victims' party requests to re-consider the case and the majority of convicted persons ask to cancel the verdict.
Today, among other motions, the Supreme Court has dismissed the request to interrogate former policemen Vadim Zainiev and Sergey Zinoviev convicted for negligence in the course of duty during the riots in Sagra, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
After all motions have been dismissed and the investigation into the case has been completed, the Supreme Court began listening to oral statements of the parties.
