Yerevan: at trial of Nersisyan ecologists confirm use of electric shock
At a court session, ecologists Mariam Sukhudyan and Gevorg Safaryan have spoken in support of their colleague Egiya Nersisyan, accused of defamation and libel in respect of the Canadian company "Dino Gold Mining".
Let us remind you that the ecologist Nersisyan was sued by the "Dino Gold Mining", which had accused him of defamation and slander. The lawsuit was caused by Nersisyan's speech at a meeting with members of the Armenian Diaspora in the United States on December 14, 2012, where the ecologist said: "Do you know how foreigners treat Armenia? For example, the Canadian 'Gold Company' in Kapan is using electric shock to keep workers awake for 24 hours and capable to work."
According to Gevorg Safaryan, in 2011 he met two employees of the company, who had become victims of violence. The witnesses have also assured that Egiya Nersisyan had tried to verify the information about the use of electric shock by the company.
The next court session is scheduled for August 26, a source from the court of general jurisdiction of the administrative districts of Kanaker-Zeitun told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
