Dagestani investigators fail to establish association of Patimat and Sabina Abakarova with militants
In the opinion of Gasan Aigunov, the chairman of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) in the Republic of Dagestan, the case Patimat and Sabina Abakarova, in whose house in Makhachkala, as claimed power agents, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found, will soon fall apart. The investigative bodies report that the case has been transferred to the police for inquiry, and the information about the women's links with militants was not confirmed.
Let us remind you that on June 7 power agents reported detection of two "suicide belts" in houses in Makhachkala; according to the operative data, these IEDs belonged to Patimat and Sabina Abakarova, who allegedly were civilian wives of earlier killed leaders of the so-called "Makhachkala grouping".
"The information about Abakarovas' involvement in a bandit grouping was not confirmed; they are also not extremists. The only article, which is still being inquired is the illegal possession of weapons," Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman for the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"In a private conversation power agents have confessed that the suicide belts had been planted on them (Abakarovas), 'because we needed to do it'," said Gasan Aigunov. He said that FSB agents have a certain "list of citizens", who need to "be taken under control".
Aigunov marks that it is possible to understand power agents. "Every day policemen are killed; and their colleagues are full of 'righteous anger' in their souls," said the head of the POC, adding that this does not justify the illegal actions of power agents.
