Investigators refuse to open criminal case on the death of the convict for blowing up "Neva-Express" Train
The Investigating Division for Yekaterinburg of the ICRF has dismissed the application of relatives of Tarkhan Kartoev who asked to open a criminal case on the fact of his violent death during his stay in quarantine of Colony No. 2 in Yekaterinburg, said the lawyer Tatiana Okushko.
Let us remind you that on June 30 Tarkhan Kartoev's father received a telegram from the above colony reporting that his son had died on June 29. According to the spokesman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Department of the Russian FSIN (Federal Penitentiary Service), he died of acute cardiovascular deficiency; however, his relatives, having received his body, found numerous bruises and wounds.
According to Alexei Sokolov, a human rights activist from Yekaterinburg and member of the Public Commission for Monitoring Human Rights Observation in jails, Colony No. 2 enjoys a pretty bad reputation. "Incidents, like the one with Tarkhan Kartoev, happen quite often there; and all these strange deaths are classified as cardiovascular insufficiency," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
It should be noted that the human rights activists, who carried out monitoring of Colony No. 2, had complaints.
