Sochi residents complain about poor quality of repair of roads and pavements
Sochi residents express their outrage with the poor quality of repairs of roads, pavements and house-adjoining territories.
This summer road works are covering all the districts of Sochi. It is planned to put modern pavement on 270 streets of the resort city, apart from new roads and the federal highway. The quality of works is supervised by independent experts, who have no claims as to the quality of works. The builders plan to complete all the works by September, the official website of the administration of Sochi reports.
However, residents of the city give examples of poor work and poor organization thereof.
In particular, in the Tsentralny District, the streets named after Gorky, Voikov, Pervimaiskaya, Sebastopol, Titov, Tuapse, Dagomys, Kubanskaya, Theatrical and Ordzhonikidze, and Kurortny Avenue remained unrepaired. Igor Platonov, the chairman of the self-governing unit (known as TOS) "Zavokzalny", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that not only two cars, but even two pedestrians are unable to bypass each other, because of poor pavement and absence of sidewalks.
"All roads in Sochi – of federal, regional and local subordination – are in terrible state," said the chairman of the TOS "Zarechny" Gennady Bedrakov. He noted that he had sent messages on the state of the roads to the Mayoralty, territorial administration and administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
Sochi residents also complain about poor organization of traffic in the city and fall in the level of road safety.
