MIA: second IED at shop "Kristall" in Makhachkala appears to be dummy
In Makhachkala, the second improvised explosive device (IED) installed near the shop "Kristall" (Crystal), was a dummy. This was reported by a source in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 4, in Makhachkala, in the shop "Kristall", which specializes in sale of alcoholic beverages, a detonator of the IED exploded. No one was injured, the shop was closed, and only its facade was damaged. In the morning of August 5, the second IED was found during inspection of the area around the shop "Kristall". Combat engineers checked the IED, and it appeared to be a dummy. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the source in the MIA for Dagestan.
According to the source's information, earlier, owners of the shop received threats in connection with sale of alcoholic beverages. The official of the MIA said that the issue of institution of a criminal case is under consideration.
It should be noted that in Dagestan, shops and cafes, selling alcoholic beverages are frequently blown up and shelled. The investigating and law enforcement bodies often state that the main version in such cases is the revenge of militants for the owners' refusal to pay them the "paying off" for doing business that "does not correspond to the precepts of Islam."
