Stavropol Territory: count of victims of traffic accident reaches 29
In the Stavropol Territory, as a result of a road traffic accident involving a tourist bus, one person was killed, and 29 persons were injured. This was reported by Oleg Degtyarov, Spokesperson of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of the Stavropol Territory.
The road traffic accident occurred in the highway Kropotkin-Novoaleksandrovsk, near the village of Yuzhny. The tourist bus followed the route "Adler-Stavropol".
The number of 29 victims includes four children. Two adults are in serious condition. This was reported by the website of the Chief Department of the Russian MfE for the Stavropol Territory.
According to the version of the Regional Department of the GIBDD (road police), the road traffic accident could occur because of the carelessness of the driver: he could take no notice of a new road junction.
"At present, we consider the version of violation of the traffic rules committed by the driver as a preliminary version of the cause of the road traffic accident. Most likely, in the dark, the driver failed to immediately see a road roundabout recently built in the place. He failed to slow down in time and hit a curb, and then the bus overturned," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the representative of the GIBDD Department.
The source in the GIBDD Department believes that the technical condition of the bus could hardly be the cause of the road traffic accident, since the bus is new it was manufactured in 2011.
