In Makhachkala, relatives of missing people hold a rally

Twelve relatives of the missing residents of Dagestan Shamil Abdulaev and Shamil Zakiragaev held today a rally in Makhachkala without a sanction of the authorities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to the relatives that Shamil Abdullaev and Shamil Zakiragaev were kidnapped on June 6 by armed masked people in Makhachkala. On July 28, about a hundred relatives of Abdulaev and Zakiragaev held a rally against the lawlessness of special services.

Today, 12 women came to hold their protest in Lenin Square, in front of the government of Dagestan. They demanded to meet Ramazan Abdulatipov, the acting head of Dagestan.

Sultanat Magomedova, Zakiragaev's mother, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that since the disappearance of her son she had no information about him.

"I wrote applications to a variety of bodies: the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Government, but received no answer. We held a rally – and again no response. Do we shout into the abyss? Why is nobody listening? If our sons are guilty of something, then judge them according to the law. We ask that they tell us about their whereabouts," said Magomedova.

The protesters said that after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr they will again hold protests, if their requests about the whereabouts of Abdulaev and Zakiragaev are not heard.
