On August 6, at the trial in the case on the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, an observer of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta", the Moscow City Court questioned several witnesses, including operative agents of law enforcement bodies. They were questioned behind closed doors. Besides, the Court also listened to staff members of operational-and-search department of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Moscow, who were in charge of external observation. All of them have declared they were not involved in the crime.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at the court session held on August 6, advocate Murad Musaev stated that Anna Politkovskaya was killed for money by law enforcers and not by natives of Chechnya suspected of the crime.
The next court session was postponed till August 12 because of illness of one of the jurors.
Let us remind you that the victims and their representatives have stated that they refuse to participate in the court hearing, since on July 23, the Court selected a jury without their participation.
