Krasnodar court extended Mikhail Savva's custody
By the decision of the Oktiabrsky District Court of Krasnodar, the custody term of Mikhail Savva, the director of grant programmes of the Southern Regional Resource Centre, accused of a fraud, has been extended by two months.
On August 8, public activists wanted to attend the court session, where Savva's freedom restriction measure was to be decided; however, court marshals refused to let them in, despite the fact that earlier sessions on the case were open. Moreover, one of the court staff knocked out a photo camera out of the hands of the defendant's daughter, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The court staff did not allow the crowd into the courtroom; and the session was held behind closed doors. The reasons for choosing this format of the session have not been reasoned yet.
By decision of Judge Kryukov, Mikhail Savva will stay behind bars until October 10, 2013.
Elena Savva, the wife and public defender of the defendant, has already filed a complaint to the Chair of the Oktiabrsky District Court with a request to keep the records from CCTV cameras located on the ground floor of the courthouse, in the context of the incident, when some unknown employee of the court delivered a blow to her daughter Olga.
