In Kabardino-Balkaria, residents of Verkhny Kurkuzhin village batten ambulance station doors to protest against dismissal of physician

Residents of the village of Verkhny Kurkuzhin of Kabardino-Balkaria battened doors of the local ambulance station to protest against the dismissal of Mukhamed Tatimov, acting head of the local ambulance station. They demand to reinstate him in his job position, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

On August 6, delegation of 15 villagers, mostly elderly, came to Nalchik to meet the Minister of Health of Kabardino-Balkaria to discuss the issue.

Besides, they presented their demands in written and addressed them to the Minister of Health and the leader of the republic. Their letter states that they are indignant about the dismissal of experienced physician Mukhamed Tatimov and the appointment of a young woman to his position, since they treat that as disregard of their interests.

During the meeting with Zuriyat Bgazhnokova and Aslan Kaufov, Deputy Ministers of Health, the residents of the village of Verkhny Kurkuzhin demanded to return Mukhamed Tatimov. "Our village is situated far from big cities, and not all our villages have the opportunity to travel to Nalchik or to Baksan to receive medical treatment. So, experienced physician in our ambulance station is very important for us," said Musa Bidov, a 80-year-old villager.
