Stanislav Khatskevich, former CEO of "Krasnaya Polyana", arrested

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow has arrested Stanislav Khatskevich, the former Director General of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Krasnaya Polyana", suspected of abuse of power at obtaining revenues from the construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi.

"Khatskevich is arrested by the Tverskoy Court until September 9," the "Interfax" quotes Ekaterina Korotova, the press-secretary of the Court, as saying.

Today, during the court session, the investigator said that Khatskevich had tried to put pressure on witnesses and made trips to Sochi and abroad to negotiate with other figurants in the case. The investigator is afraid that if at large Khatskevich may put pressure on witnesses.

However, Khatskevich has stated at the court that since the initiation of the case he cooperated with investigators and did not understand the reasons for his custody. "I took the position to assist the investigation as much as I can; therefore other figurants in the case tried to put pressure on me," he said.

Let us remind you that Stanislav Khatskevich is an alleged accomplice of Magomed Bilalov, the former deputy chairman of the board of directors and shareholder of the OJSC "Krasnaya Polyana", who is accused of illegally obtaining income from the money allocated for the construction of facilities for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
