Tural Abbasly spent three days in handcuffs in Baku jail, his mother asserts
In Azerbaijan, Tural Abbasly, the leader of the youth organization of the "Musavat" Party, who is serving an administrative penalty of arrest, is subjected to inhuman treatment in detention. This was reported by the activist's mother.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 7, the Nasimi District Court of Baku found Tural Abbasly, the leader of the youth organization of the opposition "Musavat" Party, guilty of evading the administrative punishment and sentenced him to 15-day administrative arrest.
Tural Abbasly spent three days after his arrest in handcuffs. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Bashkhanym Abbasova, the activist's mother.
"Today, advocate Asabali Mustafaev visited Tural in the temporary detention facility (IVS) of the Binagadi District. It turned out that Tural spent three days in handcuffs. Moreover, his hands were shackled behind his back. On the day of his arrest, Tural was observing a post on the occasion of Ramadan. In the evening, he was not given any food," Bashkhanym Abbasova has said.
The woman does not know where to file a complaint because of the week-end. "I hope that the media will bring my anxiety to the local and international community," Bashkhanym Abbasova has noted.
