In Vladikavkaz, ambulance drivers decide to go on strike
Today, in Vladikavkaz, ambulance drivers and physicians made a decision to go on strike. They are dissatisfied with their low salaries and lack of ambulance cars.
The drivers did not announce the specific date for the protest event. They have just noted that the strike will be started "soon".
According to the story of Ruslan Bornatsev, a driver of a Vladikavkaz ambulance car, at the meeting, the drivers complained about the lack of ambulance cars, which led to ambulance's late visits for calls, including the emergency calls.
In turn, ambulance physicians promise to cease coming to the visits if their demands for higher salaries and better working conditions are not met within two to three days.
"We came together because we are not satisfied with working conditions and salaries. Salary of a young physician reaches 8600 roubles, salary of a medical assistant 6100 roubles, and wage of a driver is 6500-6600 roubles," the STRC (State TV and Radio Company) "Alania" quotes Svetlana Gogaeva, an ambulance physicians, as saying.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 8, in Vladikavkaz, about 50 ambulance drivers went on strike. The drivers stated that they did not go to work because of wage arrears.
