Investigators see no links between murders of SIZO employee and ex-UFSIN worker in Dagestan

Investigators see no association of the murder in Dagestan of Revshan Lukmanov, the head of the regime division of SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison) of Makhachkala, with the murder of Eldar Magaramov, an ex-employee of the UFSIN (Department of the Russia's Penitentiary Service), said the spokesman for the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF.

On August 11, Major Revshan Lukmanov was shot dead by unidentified killer in his house in Makhachkala.

On August 12, in the 17th kilometre of the highway Khasavyurt-Babayurt, a Lada Priora was shelled; and Eldar Magaramov, a retired employee of the UFSIN was killed. Apart from Magaramov, two more persons, including a four-year-old child, were shot dead.

"Most likely, it's just a coincidence. Investigators see the main version of the murder of the UFSIN officer Revshan Lukmanov, the head of the regime division of SIZO-1 of Makhachkala, in his official duties. The SIZO, where he worked, militants are kept among other detainees," a source from the Dagestani Department of the ICRF told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"As for Eldar Magaramov, here, some everyday incident is mainly considered. Magaramov was a pensioner. However, investigators will also work out the version associated with his former place of work. Until 2011, he worked as a senior security agent at SIZO-3 of the Russian UFSIN for the Republic of Dagestan," said the source.
