Karabakh soldier Indjigulyan brought to Baku

The soldier Indjigulyan, who came to the territory controlled by the military forces of Azerbaijan, has been brought to Baku and handed over to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Shakhin Sailov, the Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, said on August 10.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to preliminary data, at night on August 8, Akop Indjigulyan, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Nagorno-Karabakh, lost his way and found himself in the territory controlled by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, where he was detained.

According to Sailov, next week the soldier will meet officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross, who will ask him whether he wants to return to Armenia or go to some third country.

He added that since the soldier had no documents on him, so far, only his surname – Indjigulyan – is known, the "Trend" reports.

On August 9, David Tonoyan, First Deputy Defence Minister, formally addressed the International Committee of the Red Cross asking to assure Indjigulyan that the incident would not entail any legal consequences for him, in case the Azerbaijani party is ready to organize and ensure his safe return to Armenia, the PanARMENIAN.Net reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 5, in the Karabakh conflict zone, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Armenia was wounded.
