Krasnodar court upholds extension of Professor Savva's arrest
The Krasnodar Territorial Court has upheld the August 8 ruling of the Oktiabrsky District Court of Krasnodar, to extend the detention of Mikhail Savva, the director of grant programmes of the Southern Regional Resource Centre (SRRC), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Let us remind you that on August 8 the detention of Professor Mikhail Savva was extended by two months. The defence then appealed against this decision.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Professor Savva, who was detained on April 12, is charged with a fraudulent embezzlement of budget funds allocated by the administration of the Krasnodar Territory in the form of a grant, and with receiving payment for teaching a fictitious course at the university. He refused to plead guilty.
