Relatives of kidnapped resident of Makhachkala state that said that law enforcers fail to search him
The law enforcement authorities of Dagestan are not engaged in the search of Sakhrab Abakargadjiev, a resident of Makhachkala, who was kidnapped by masked men on May 20, his relatives assert. The spokesman of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) claims that the search of Sakhrab is underway.
Sakhrab Abakargadjiev was beaten and kidnapped when he was returning home after taking his wife to her mother, his sister Umakusum told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to her story, Abakargadjiev's relatives have addressed their applications about his kidnapping to the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office, MIA and FSB Department for the Republic.
"We see that they are not engaged in searching Sakhrab; therefore, we appealed to human rights organizations," said Umakusum. Elena Denisenko, an employee of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) in Dagestan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that relatives of the kidnapped person turned to her on July 30.
The relatives' application also says that the woman, who had witnessed the kidnapping and reported the numbers of the masked men's cars to Sakhrab relatives, had disappeared.
"The search of the resident of Makhachkala Abakargadjiev is ongoing. The respective criminal case is run by Criminal Search Department. The case was opened under Article 126 "Kidnapping" of the Russian Criminal Code," said a source from the MIA.
