CEC of Chechnya made ballot papers for blind and visually impaired voters
Visually impaired voters will be able to take part in the parliamentary elections in Chechnya by using special ballots in Braille produced by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the CEC.
According to the regional branch of the All-Russian Society of the Blind, Chechnya has registered a total of 2536 visually impaired people older than 18 years. 1500 of them are completely blind.
A source from the CEC also said that Chechnya is preparing a mass awareness campaign about the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 8.
"Three days before the voting day, every voter will receive an invitation to take part in the elections. In addition, banners will be placed in cities and towns with the names of the streets, where polling stations are located," said the CEC.
Let us remind you that 17 parties take part in the parliamentary elections of Chechnya of the third convocation. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), 776 candidates claim for 41 seats in the Legislative Assembly, including over 200 women and more than 400 young people aged under 30.
