Protesters adopt resolution demanding to stop construction of well room in Sochi
The rally against the construction of the well room in the park opposite the Winter Theatre in Sochi was attended by more than 50 persons and ended in the adoption of resolution demanding to stop the construction of the object and to restore the green zone.
According to the story of Lyudmila Shestak, the deputy of Sochi City Council from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), the decision to hold the rally "came after the Mayor of Sochi refused to respond to public opinion and signatures under the appeal to cease the construction of the well room on the lawn."
Besides, the protesters demanded "to immediately start the certification of green zones of Sochi and to take effective measures to revive the balneotherapeutic health resort of Sochi."
The resolution of the rally has been adopted unanimously.
Vitaly Nibieridze, a member of the movement "Zakon i Poryadok" (Law and Order), has stated that the movement filed a lawsuit against the City Mayor.
At the end of the rally, to express their protest, the participants of the rally tore a piece of the banner hiding the construction site of the well room. Natalia Mozhanova, an official from the City Mayoralty, told the protesters that they damaged the state property.
