Mark Kruter: ECtHR to consider Said Amirov's complaint against his custody
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has given priority to the complaint filed by Said Amirov, suspended Mayor of Makhachkala, against his detention in custody. The ECtHR has asked Russia to submit additional documents to justify Said Amirov's detention in SIZO (pre-trial prison). This was reported by Mark Kruter, an advocate of Said Amirov.
Let us remind you that on August 19, the Moscow City Court upheld the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow to prolong till November 11, 2013, the period of detention to Said Amirov, Mayor of Makhachkala. The arrest of the official was recognized to be lawful, and the complaints filed by the advocates were dismissed.
In the course of the consideration of the complaint, the defence of Said Amirov submitted to the Court the documents from the ECtHR. The documents suggest that the complaint against the detention in custody of the suspended Mayor of Makhachkala was given priority in connection with the information about the critical condition of his health. The ECtHR has asked Russia to submit more information about the health state of Said Amirov, and Russia is to submit the requested information till August 26. This was reported by Mark Kruter.
