At trial in case of Krymsk flood, officials sentenced to 3.5 years of conditional imprisonment and to 3.5-6 years of real imprisonment
Today, the Abinsk District Court of the Krasnodar Territory has completed pronouncing the verdict in the case against four officials from the Krymsk and the Krymsk District on the flooding occurred in last July. All defendants were sentenced to periods of imprisonment required by public prosecutors.
At night on July 7, 2012, the flooding occurred in the Krasnodar Territory. The Krymsk District was mostly affected by the disaster: 153 persons were killed and two other persons were put on the list of missing persons.
At the trial held in Krymsk, the Abinsk District Court found guilty all defendants Vasily Krutsko, the former head of the Krymsk District, Vladimir Ulanovskiy, ex-Mayor of Krymsk, Irina Ryabchenko, the former head of the rural settlement of Nizhnebakanskaya, and Viktor Zhdanov, the acting head of the District Department for Emergencies Prevention.
Vasily Krutsko was sentenced to six years of imprisonment, Vladimir Ulanovskiy to 3.5 years of imprisonment, and Viktor Zhdanov to 4.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony of settlement. Irina Ryabchenko was sentenced to 3.5 years of conditional sentence, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
