Relatives of missing Dagestan residents ready to go on hunger strike
Today, relatives of missing residents of Dagestan have held a rally in Makhachkala and stated that law enforcers and special agents had had to do with disappearances.
The rally was held in the park named after the 50th October Anniversary and brought together about 20 people.
The gathering was addressed by Patimat Abdulkadyrova, the mother of Shamil Abdulaev, who disappeared on June 6. She said, referring to witnesses of the kidnapping, that the armed men who surrounded her son and his friend Shamil Zakiragaev, opened fire at them, although the young men had no intention to escape or render resistance.
"When occasional passers-by began to come running, these masked men shouted to them that the FSB was working and that they should not come closer. We don't know where our guys were taken. Now, after more than two months, we still know nothing about their fate," said Abdulkadyrova.
At the end of the protest, the relatives said that if no information was available in the next week about their relatives, they would go on hunger strike.
