"All-Ingush Civil Council" complains to Putin about Medvedev's statement on elections
The Coordinating Council of the Association "All-Ingush Civil Council" has asked the Russian President Vladimir Putin to react to the statement of the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev about the election procedure in several republics of Northern Caucasus.
The complaint was triggered by Medvedev's statement made on August 19 in Pyatigorsk at his meeting with the participants of the North-Caucasian Youth Forum "Mashuk-2013".
"I believe that elections should be everywhere – another point is that in those cases where the political culture is still a bit different, we can set up a transition period for this," the "RBC" quotes today Dmitry Medvedev as saying.
The statement of the Prime Minister is thoughtless, says the appeal of the Coordinating Council of the Association "All-Ingush Civil Council" to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Vladimir Vladimirovich, be so kind as to give your assessment of the haphazard statement of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and thereby calm the disturbed people of Ingushetia. Nobody is allowed to divide nations on the basis of the 'right' and 'different' political culture," says the appeal, which was posted on August 22 on the website of the "Angusht.com".
