In Karaman, Tarkin communities discuss draft appeal to Ramazan Abdulatipov
About three hundred residents of the villages of Tarki, Kyakhulay and Alburikent gathered today at a meeting in Karaman to discuss the situation around the land plots of the Kumtorkalin District and adopt an appeal to the Acting Head of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, in Karaman, visited by residents of Tarkin and Lak villages, unsatisfied with land allocation, a rioting burst out. According to the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), about 700 people took part in disorders, which resulted in injuring four policemen.
The today's meeting was attended by communities of three villages; however, as Magomed-Amin Magomedov, the Chairman of the Public Council of the village of Tarki, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, they did not invite representatives from other districts.
Apart from Magomedov, the meeting was addressed by Zalimkhan Valiev, the head of the council of Kyakhulay; Absalitdin Mirzaev, the Chairman of the Congress of Kumyk People, and other public figures. The elder Vagid Vagidov read out a draft appeal to the Acting Head of the Republic.
"A lot of misinformation is now spread on the Internet about the situation in Karaman and our demands. In our appeal, we justify the need to create the Tarkin District. The text of the appeal is not yet final; it needs refining. But in two days, we'll send it to the president and mass media," Magomed-Amin Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot".
