Ingushetia declares day of mourning because of murder of Secretary of Ingush Security Council
Ingushetia has declared the day of August 29 a day of mourning in connection with the murder of Akhmed Kotiev, Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia, and Ruslan Kotiev, a policeman who accompanied him. This was reported by Irina Kuksenkova, the head of the press service of the leader of Ingushetia. The relevant decree was signed by Yunus-Bek Evkurov.
In the morning of August 27, Akhmed Kotiev and his driver were killed during the shelling of their car near the village of Nizhnie Achaluki of the Malgobek District of Ingushetia. On the same day, the body of the Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia was buried at the family cemetery in Malgobek.
At present, the issue about candidates for the position of the Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia remains open, and no one has been nominated for the position. This was reported by Irina Kuksenkova.
Responsibility for the murder of Akhmed Kotiev has been undertaken by the Ingush militants who claim that he helped armed persecution of Muslims. The Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) also states that the murder involved members of the illegal armed formation (IAF) led by Arthur Getagazhev.
