A group of Russian journalists and public figures visit Stepanakert for a study. They hold meetings with the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh and discuss the possibility to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Yuri Navoyan, Chairman of the organization "Russian-Armenian Cooperation", emphasizes that "we are in a very difficult geopolitical region, there is an unresolved conflict with Azerbaijan, and very often all events are presented in negative, so Russian readers can hardly discern the truth."
In the conversation with Karen Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, Denis Dvornikov, a member of the Russian Public Chamber, said that, according to his observations, Armenia is concerned over the possibility to establish direct relations between Russia and Nagorno-Karabakh and the recognition of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Karen Mirzoyan has responded that he first hears that Yerevan is concerned over the prospect. Meanwhile, he has emphasized that "the conflict has been resolved; however, at present, it is necessary for the parties to the conflict and the mediators to establish peaceful co-existence between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan."
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported that the Russian delegation will stay in the republic till August 30.
