During week of August 26 - September 1, 17 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of August 26-September 1, 2013, at least 17 persons suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of these, 9 persons were killed, and 8 persons were wounded. These are the results of calculations of the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
The death toll includes five suspected members of the armed underground, including four in Dagestan and one in Kabardino-Balkaria, and four civilians, including two in Ingushetia and two in Dagestan.
The largest number of casualties was recorded in Dagestan. There, for the week of August 26-September 1, 10 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 6 persons were killed, and 4 persons were wounded. As a result of attacks of unidentified persons, armed clashes, and special operations, three law enforcers got wounds of varying severity. During the armed clashes, four suspected members of the armed underground were killed, and one was wounded. As a result of the attacks committed by unidentified persons, two civilians were killed.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, one suspected member of illegal armed formations (IAFs) was killed.
In Chechnya, a policeman was wounded in the course of a special operation.
In Ingushetia, five persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, two were killed and three others were wounded.
For the week of August 26-September 1, no victims to the armed conflict in the Stavropol Territory, North Ossetia and Karachay-Cherkessia were reported.
