Dagestan: "Karata" Society postpones hunger strike scheduled for September 5
The "Karata" Society has decided to indefinitely postpone the hunger strike in protest against the failure of the authorities to solve the murder of journalist Akhmednabi Akhmednabiev.
Let us remind you that on July 18 the "Karata" addressed the acting president of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov asking to attract investigators of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) to the inquiry into Akhmednabiev's murder. Should the murder has not been solved by September 5, activists promised to start a hunger strike.
"The action is postponed indefinitely, because we want to more thoroughly prepare it technically and organize it better," Abakar Abakarov, an activist of the "Karata", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
He also noted that "because of the total absence of any actions aimed at solving the crime, we hereby ask to transfer the criminal case for further investigation to the Chief Department of the ICRF for the Southern Federal District (SFD)."
