In Ingushetia, father of many children goes on endless hunger strike

On September 3, Azamat Archakov, the head of the family with many children, who lives in a former workshop of the canning factory located in the village of Ali-Yurt of the Nazran District of Ingushetia, went on hunger strike. He demands to provide his family with housing.

The family of Azamat Archakov has six children, including one disabled child, and at present, the family is in a desperate situation. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by the head of the family.

"I have no job. For 15 years, my family has been living in the former workshop of the canning factory. The building is dilapidated. I have six children, and the youngest child is just a little older than one year old. Middle daughter suffers from diabetes, and she is insulin-dependent. At present, there is a real danger for her life. None of the officials, to whom I appealed for help, does even bother to meet me," Azamat Archakov says.

According to his story, he has decided to go on hunger strike in hope to draw the attention of Ingush officials to the desperate situation of his family.

Azamat Archakov is on hunger strike on the roof of the former juice-processing workshop located in the village of Ali-Yurt. And he holds two bottles with gasoline beside him. Azamat Archakov states if he is forced to end his hunger strike, he intends to set himself on fire.
