In Volgograd, CPRF holds action demanding to prevent falsifications at elections to City Duma
On September 4, in Volgograd, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) held a protest action against falsifications during the elections to the Volgograd City Duma. The protest action was supported by representatives of the opposition parties "Yabloko" and "RPR-Parnas", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The data on the number of absentee ballots issued by the election commission became the reason for the protest action.
"It is no secret that 15,000 absentee ballots have been issued for the elections to the City Duma. Of these, on August 27, 13,000 absentee ballots were given on hands. The question is: who, when and for whom has managed to issue absentee ballots? We got no answer for this question, so we filed an appeal to the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Committee. At present, the investigation is underway," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Galina Boldyreva, the leader of the Regional Branch of the "Yabloko" Party.
According to her information, the investigation has revealed the facts that people did not received and did not asked to issue absentee ballots. Some other people filed applications to get absentee ballots for them and entered their passport details.
For the period of the investigation, power of the chairperson of the election commission of the Kirov District has been suspended.
