53 builders of Sochi Olympic facilities complain of salary non-payment
53 workers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Russia engaged in building houses for volunteers in Sochi, have addressed the Sochi branch of the network "Migration and Law" with a complaint about non-payment of their salaries for three months. The workers have a chance to get some of the money, says Semyon Simonov, the coordinator of the network.
The applicants began their work at the site located in the village of Vesyoloe in October 2012. The facility is called "Apartment houses for temporary staff, volunteers and securities". The developer is the State Corporation (SC) "Olympstroy"; and the OJSC "RDZhstroy" is the general contractor.
As stated by the builders, they received no salaries for April, May, June and partially for August. In total, the employer owes them more than 4.8 million roubles.
According to Sobirjon Yunusov, a worker from Tajikistan, the employer explained the delay by the general contractor's failure to transfer the money.
Semyon Simonov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the workers have all the necessary documents – employment contracts, passes, work permits, certificates, invoices and other evidence of their employment at the facility. He said that the respective applications have been directed to the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Committee.
Since the beginning of 2013, in total about 1500 people have addressed the Sochi reception office of the network "Migration and Law". About 150 of them have managed, thanks to the network, to adjudge their salaries.
