In Volgograd, 12 parents of many children go on hunger strike
The hunger-strikers try to attract attention to the problems of maternity and childhood in the Volgograd Region and dismiss the Governor Sergey Bozhenov, Elena Samoshina, one of the hunger-strikers, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that several mothers of many children of the Volgograd Region had gone on a hunger strike back on September 6, demanding to solve their social problems. The mother then tried to get into the government building and meet the Governor Sergey Bozhenov. During the action in front of the regional administration, 10 persons were detained. On September 8 Elena Samoshina stopped her hunger strike because she was invited by employees of Vladimir Putin's reception office to come to Moscow and present their demands to the president.
According to Samoshina, 12 persons are taking part in an endless hunger strike.
"We demand to pay attention to the problems of maternity and childhood in the Volgograd Region, dismiss Governor Bozhenov and introduce a curfew. There are lots of criminals and rapists here who threaten our children," said the woman.
Elena Samoshina has added that the Tsentralny District Court, which was to consider today the administrative offenses of three persons charged by the police for taking part in the action on September 17, namely, Samoshina, Dmitry Karpov, the head of the Krasnooktyabrskiy District Committee of the CPRF, and an activist Anatoly Boltykhov, has postponed the court session.
