NAC: leader of "Derbent" militant grouping killed in Dagestan

Today, five militants were killed during the special operation, which takes place in the city of Derbent. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). According to the NAC's information, the number of killed men includes the leader of the local militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the special operation was started at night. According to the law enforcers' information, militants were blocked in the house, including Akhmed Sharipov, who was suspected in organizing the terror act committed in the village of Khuchni on September 23. The militants refused to surrender and opened fire. In the morning, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime has been introduced in the city.

One of the killed militant was identified as the "leader" of the 'Derbent' criminal grouping", the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the NAC. Till present, the name of the killed man has not been mentioned.

At present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of relatives of the killed persons on the information about their involvement in the activities of the armed underground.
